Minneapolis Energy Disclosure

Understand your homes energy use through your energy score.

What is a home energy score?Tish_Postcard_-(3).png

Minneapolis makes it easy to understand home energy use by providing an energy disclosure report at the time of sale. Use our interactive map to search for scores by address or neighborhood.

Knowing a home's energy score is like knowing a car’s miles-per-gallon rating. Both can shed light on potential operating costs before you buy. Each home energy score is generated by looking at the four areas in a home with the highest opportunity for energy savings in Minnesota’s climate:

  • Attic insulation

  • Wall insulation

  • Heating system

  • Storm windows

Benefits of improving your energy score:

  • Lower your energy bills, saving up to $2,000 over five years.

  • Live in a more comfortable home with fewer drafts and ice dams.

  • Increase your home's resale value by 2% to 6%.

  • Help achieve our community's energy goals.
