CEE has been named as one of the recipients of an estimated total of $2.9 million in housing grants for a government project to develop the Taconite Assistance Area. The projects are expected to diversify the local economy, increase the regional tax base, retain and create jobs, grow the housing inventory, modernize essential infrastructure, and expand outdoor recreation. CEE plans to provide low interest housing rehabilitation loans in five communities across the Iron Range with the oldest housing stock.
