New staff springing up at CEE

As Minnesota patiently waits for spring, we want to highlight the new team members that have sprung up in the past few months! With their support, our programs and goals will continue to grow — alongside those spring flowers! 

Tanner Case

Tanner Case, Energy Counselor

Tanner is one of many new staff on the expanding residential team and brings with him expertise from his degree in building science and energy management from Western Technical College in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Elliot Cudak

Elliott Cudak, Energy Counselor

After working with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board on aquatic invasive species management, Elliott recently joined the residential team. He holds a degree in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, where he was on the board of the Student Office of Sustainability and participated on the waste audit report research team. 

Matthew Fliegel

Matthew Fliegel, Energy Counselor

Another new addition to our residential team, Matthew joins CEE with a degree in geological engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Matthew has experience in natural resource management and prairie restoration from his previous role at Conservation Corps.

Clara Higgins

Clara Higgins, Energy Counselor

Our growing residential team is happy to welcome Clara, with experience from her previous roles at Wildness Inquiry and the Augsburg University Archives. She holds a BA in Spanish and history from Augsburg University. 

Janson Hunter

Janson Hunter, Loan Officer

Janson joined CEE's lending team earlier this year. Prior to this position, he managed workplace-giving campaigns for United Way. He holds a degree in political science and sociology from Luther College.

Stian Kvaal

Stian Kvaal, Energy Counselor

Prior to CEE, Stian worked for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board as an aquatic invasive species watercraft inspector and educator. He holds a BS in biology and a minor in sustainability from the University of St. Thomas, where he worked as part of the Student Sustainability Leadership Program.

Blake Lajiness

Blake Lajiness, Program Coordinator

Blake joins CEE remotely from Michigan where he is working to expand CEE's Midwest footprint. Blake graduated from Michigan State University in 2021 and holds a BS in environmental studies and sustainability and a BA in public policy.

Carina Larson

Carina Larson, Office and Administrative Specialist

Carina joins CEE as the main support for the management of the Minneapolis downtown office. Carina has nonprofit experience, as well as experience in the hospitality industry and as a pharmacy technician. Carina is currently enrolled in St. Paul College. 

Cayne McCaskell

Cayne McCaskell, Marketing Coordinator

Cayne's experience in marketing & communications for a nonprofit affordable housing developer translates well to his role at CEE, assisting in developing and executing marketing plans for CEE's commercial programs. He holds a BS in advertising with a minor in mass communications from Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Anna Weibe

Anna Weibe, Energy Counselor

Anna has a background in ecological restoration and education. She has worked for Landbridge Ecological and the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board. She holds a BS in wildlife biology and fisheries management from the University of Wyoming.

Robin Westacott

Robin Westacott, Controller

Robin joins the accounting team with more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, most recently as a financial consultant focused on improving financial processes. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Minnesota and holds a BA in accounting from Illinois State University.
