Overview

This Native-led, public-private partnership project aims to address electric vehicle (EV) barriers for Tribal members in the western Great Lakes region and install EV supply equipment (EVSE) in Tribal communities. The project is intended to provide equitable access to clean, affordable transportation in rural, underserved Tribal communities. Project objectives will be met through community engagement and planning, installation of Level 2 EVSE, data collection to quantify community benefits, and education and outreach with relevant stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate EVSE in Tribal communities.
  • Promote equitable access to clean, affordable transportation in rural, underserved Tribal communities.

Scope

  • Engage 34 Native Nations in MI, MN, and WI.
  • Identify opportunities and priorities for EVSE deployment.
  • Install 15 EVSE, evaluating impact of EVSE in six communities.
