Eric manages the technical aspects of the Energy Codes Program within the Market Transformation department. In this role, he collaborates closely with state agencies to advance the goal of significantly improving the energy efficiency of new buildings over the next 15 years. His work supports updates to the state energy code and enhancements in code compliance. This includes identifying emerging technologies and strategies for inclusion in the code, conducting research and analysis to evaluate these innovations, and developing educational resources and training for key stakeholders.

Before joining CEE, Eric was a Senior Energy Solutions Engineer at Xcel Energy, where he supported both Commercial and Residential energy efficiency programs. He also served as a voting member on the IECC 2027 Residential Codes Envelope and Consensus committees. Earlier in his career, Eric focused on utility program management and energy engineering consulting across a wide range of energy efficiency programs. In that role, he oversaw the design and delivery of above-code, simulation-based commercial new construction programs for several Midwestern utility clients.

Outside of work, Eric enjoys camping, hiking, and traveling with his wife and three kids. A self-described habitual hobbyist, he’s especially passionate about playing guitar, fishing, and playing in a competitive summer wiffleball league.
