As community program specialist, Brady supports the implementation of Focus on Energy’s rural Wisconsin energy efficiency behavior change pilot program. Through this pilot, Brady works with local and state governments, utilities, and local stakeholders to develop and implement energy efficiency behavior change challenges and campaigns that use stakeholder engagement and online energy use feedback to achieve energy savings.
Prior to this role, Brady worked as community program associate on a number of CEE's engagement and outreach activities, including community programs, policy, and research. In his previous role, he supported workforce development initiatives, benchmarking policy and program implementation, community energy planning, strategies to promote electric vehicle use, organizational sustainability, and several local community research projects.
As a building energy analysis engineer at CEE, Di works mainly on building energy efficiency projects, including dynamic building simulation, energy analysis, troubleshooting for energy models, and energy code program review for design and simulations.
Di joined CEE in 2014 after graduating from Georgia Institute of Technology, where she received her master’s degree in high-performance building with an emphasis in building performance simulation and analysis. She has a bachelor’s of engineering in building environment and facility engineering from Dalian University of Technology in China.
Previously, Claire was an energy counselor with the Home Energy Squad. Prior to working for CEE, she worked with toxics policy groups in California and also spent time working in the field of outdoor education. Claire has a degree in environmental studies from Pacific Lutheran University.
As an energy auditor, Jeff inspects homes to assess insulation levels, air tightness, and combustion appliances to identify ways that homeowners can make their homes safer and more energy efficient.
Jeff started at CEE as an energy counselor with the Home Energy Squad in 2019.
As operations manager, Judy works directly with CEE's president on projects such as internal performance tracking, strategic planning execution, and coordinating CEE's board of directors. Judy also manages CEE's administrative team as the head of office management and coordinates the Sound Insulation program.
As a sales support specialist, Neale works with vendors, customers, and One-Stop staff to calculate rebates and process invoices.
Neale joined CEE in 2019 as an energy counselor. He has a BA in English language and literature from the University of Minnesota.
As the loan servicing processor, Lecam is responsible for setting up and maintaining loan accounts including processing payments, generating reports, and preparing billing statements, payoffs, satisfactions, and subordinations.
Lecam joined CEE in August 2017. She graduated from Hamline University with a BA in English with minors in business administration and Chinese. Prior to joining CEE, she worked with nonprofits including the Minnesota Literacy Council, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Mercy International Mission, and Heart of Dance.
As a research analyst, Ranal collects, processes, and analyzes data relating to building energy systems and efficiency.
Before joining CEE, Ranal worked on emissions research for Drawdown Georgia in Atlanta, where he modeled the potential for emissions reductions from the growth of large-scale solar generation in Georgia, as well as its effects on the carbon reduction potentials of electric vehicles, retrofitting, and distributed solar generation.
He received his BS in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech in 2020, specializing in energy systems analysis and design.
Rabi manages the Minnesota Air Source Heat Pump Collaborative and consulting projects with utility partners in North America.
He also assists other project leads with a variety of research, planning, and engagement projects in topic areas such as demand response, electric vehicles, and beneficial electrification.
Prior to joining CEE in 2017, Rabi worked at Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC) on a variety of projects such as Vermont Solar Pathways, Vermont's Community Energy Dashboard, zero energy modular homes, development of an employee engagement platform, and management of VEIC's corporate sustainability goals and greenhouse gas accounting. Rabi has a bachelor's and master's degree in environmental studies from Bemidji State University.
Cheng Vang joined the Neighborhood Energy Connection in 2010, prior to the organization’s 2017 merger with CEE. Previously, he completed the Residential Energy Auditor certificate from Dunwoody College of Technology.
As an energy advisor for CEE's residential programs, Bailey works directly with homeowners to help them review the results from their energy audit and take the next steps toward improved comfort and reduced energy costs. She also provides guidance on utility rebates and low-interest financing options, and she helps connect customers to reliable, cost-competitive contractors.
Bailey holds a BA in Spanish language & literature from the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining CEE in 2019, she spent six years working for the Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library, where she coordinated arts and humanities programming in libraries throughout Saint Paul.
Michael is a lighting consultant for the One-Stop Efficiency Shop lighting retrofit program.
As CFO, Meranda Wacek has helped the organization streamline financial and procedural policies as well as created monitoring and accountability systems to help CEE achieve its strategic priorities while maintaining a sustainable financial position. She currently oversees the organization’s finances, including development and management of the budget, revenue, expense, and cash management, and financial reporting to CEE’s Board of Directors. Meranda is also a member of CEE’s leadership team.
Meranda joined CEE in 2009 and has more than 15 years of experience in accounting, financial management, and nonprofit compliance. Prior to joining CEE, she began her career as an auditor for a public accounting firm, with a concentration in nonprofit organizations throughout the Twin Cities area.
In additional to her duties at CEE, Meranda serves as the chairperson for Junior Achievement in Hutchinson and participates in volunteer opportunities to mentor young professionals. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from the College of St. Benedict and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Minnesota.
Meranda enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling. She is especially drawn to beautiful outdoor spaces like our country’s incredible national parks! When not working or traveling, Meranda enjoys spending time with her family and challenging herself to try new things (like gardening, quilting, and dog sledding).
As an office and administrative specialist, Madison is responsible for the overall management and support of CEE's Minneapolis location.
Madison joined CEE in 2021 with experience in community organizing and volunteer support surrounding various social justice and environmental issues. She graduated from Hamline University in 2019 with a BA in women’s studies.
As an energy counselor, Sam works directly with homeowners to help them understand how their home uses energy by identifying and installing low- and no-cost opportunities and measures to save both energy and money.
Before CEE, Sam worked in various sales positions ranging from ID badge systems to running his own granite countertop shop. Sam received his BA in geoscience from Winona State University with a focus on environmental reclamation.
As a community program associate, Lauren supports a variety of CEE's engagement and outreach activities, with a focus on building energy benchmarking programs.
Lauren joined CEE in 2021. Prior to CEE, Lauren worked for a St. Paul nonprofit focused on youth programs and local food systems. She graduated from Macalester College in 2020 with a BA in geography and urban studies.
As part of Xcel Energy’s Partners in Energy program, Megan works with communities to engage their residents, businesses, and other stakeholders on energy planning and strategy implementation.
Megan joined CEE in 2021. Megan has a background in community facilitation, environmental education, and program coordination. Prior to joining CEE, she worked at Climate Generation educating and engaging communities on climate change solutions. Megan holds a BA in biology from the College of St. Benedict.
As a refrigeration consultant, Chris performs commercial refrigeration assessments for small and medium businesses like convenience stores, liquor stores, small grocery stores, restaurants, and schools. He helps these businesses implement upgrades by showing energy savings along with available rebates. Christopher also performs HVAC audits and recommends energy-saving suggestions along with rebates available for upgrades and replacement.
Previously, Chris was a sales consultant for a commercial HVAC/R wholesaler where he sold refrigeration, HVAC equipment, and parts to mechanical contractors, original equipment manufacturers, and end users. He has a technical degree in HVAC from Hennepin Technical College along with a basic electricity degree with NEI.
As an energy counselor, Julia works directly with homeowners to help them understand how their home uses energy by identifying and installing low- and no-cost opportunities and measures to save both energy and money.
Before CEE, Julia worked in environmental education, fostering an appreciation for nature in her students and empowering them to make sustainable and environmentally conscious choices. She is a graduate of Wellesley College, where she studied physics and music.
As a quality assurance inspector, Don perform blower door tests, infrared image scans, combustion safety diagnostics, and visual inspections of contractor work as part of home performance upgrades on existing homes including insulation and HVAC work.
Don has been performing energy and diagnostic testing in new and existing homes for 12 years. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in residential building science and technology.
