Large Building Air Leakage Testing Video

Watch this video for a walk-through of field testing procedures to diagnose air leakage in large buildings.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology estimates that air leaks account for one-third of commercial and industrial buildings’ energy use, so envelope air sealing could significantly reduce large building energy consumption. CEE's research project Capturing Energy Savings from Large Building Envelope Leakage Reduction is developing diagnostic procedures to identify air leaks and methods to calculate the savings from air sealing large commercial and institutional buildings.
