News Release: Minneapolis offers free home energy efficiency visits, no-interest financing on improv

Sep 10, 2015

This week, the City of Minneapolis announced it is offering free Home Energy Visits to income-qualified Minneapolis households, and no-interest financing for insulation and air-sealing upgrades. Center for Energy and Environment delivers the Home Energy Squad's services, tailoring each home visit to each resident's specific needs and interests. Since 2009, Xcel Energy and CenterPoint Energy have contracted with CEE to administer Home Energy Squad Enhanced (and prior related programs) in Minneapolis and other Twin Cities locations.

"This new offering through the Clean Energy Partnership is a powerful addition to Home Energy Squad Enhanced in Minneapolis. Free visits for limited-income households will allow us to reach those who are most in need of relief from high energy bills, and no-interest financing for insulation and air-sealing will help more residents follow through with improvements for long-term savings. This is a valuable opportunity for homeowners to save energy and money, while making Minneapolis a more energy-efficient city overall."
