The event will kick off at City Hall with Mayor Hodges as well as Council Member Glidden. All buildings that are subject to the benchmarking ordinance may participate in the Challenge and are eligible for milestone awards, which will be presented at annual award ceremonies starting in 2016. Buildings can solidify their dedication and become Challenge Leaders by publicly committing to the Challenge. Challenge Leaders will be celebrated each year at award ceremonies for their ongoing commitment, in addition to website, case study, and newsletter recognition.
At the event, the Mayor will call out Challenge Leaders who have already committed, and honor six current high-performing buildings woth awards based on the benchmarking results in three categories: Business, Hospitality/Recreation, and Arts/Community/Education.
