Media: St. Paul launches Climate Action Plan effort (Star Tribune)

Note: CEE staff provide direct project and facilitation support for the City of Saint Paul's efforts toward a citywide energy action plan. Also, CEE implements the Partners in Energy program in Minnesota for Xcel Energy, in collaboration with national partners Brendle Group and Vermont Energy Investment Corporation; Partners in Energy is among the partners helping to develop the City's energy plan.

From the Star Tribune (2/25/2017):

"... St. Paul's goal is to be carbon neutral by 2050, completely offsetting emissions so there would be no net release of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. It is one of 633 communities across the world that agreed, as part of a compact of mayors, to develop plans to address climate change ... City staff said they have some ideas of easy ways to reduce emissions, such as adding more LED lighting, but they need residents' suggestions for other ways ... Xcel Energy started working with the city last year to collect energy usage data and improve building efficiency as part of the company's 'Partners in Energy' program, which dovetails with the city's action plan ..."
