CEE Receives New Grant Funding for CARD Efficiency Research

Jan 20, 2015

Last week, the Minnesota Department of Commerce, Division of Energy Resources announced 2015 Conservation Applied Research and Development (CARD) grant recipients. CEE received funding for five energy efficiency research projects to be conducted over the next three years. CEE is also partnering with other efficiency organizations on three additional CARD funded research projects.

The CARD program funds research that investigates new technologies and strategies to further energy efficiency. The results support Minnesota’s utility-run Conservation Improvement Programs, reducing environmental impact and keeping rates low for all Minnesotans.

This is the fourth year CEE has received CARD grant funding. Past and current CARD grants, supported with co-funding from CEE, have included research on the efficiency of condensing boilers, public pool facilities and rooftop units. Research staff are gearing up for 2015 field work to kick off their new projects. Track project progress at CEE’s Innovation Exchange where periodic updates, webinars, and field activity will be posted.
