Research Project Wins Engineering Excellence Award

Center for Energy and Environment, in partnership with Seventhwave and project lead LHB, received an honor award from the Engineering Excellence Awards Program for the research: Impacts of Office Plug Load Reduction Strategies. Researchers characterized commercial building plug load energy use and evaluated reduction strategies through control technologies and occupant behavior strategies. The Engineering Excellence Awards Program, bestowed by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC/MN), recognizes engineering achievements that exhibit the highest degree of merit and ingenuity. Entries were judged based on originality, innovation, future value to the engineering profession; social, economic, and sustainable design considerations; complexity; and meeting the client’s needs.
