Erik-award.pngRecently Facilities Service Manager Erik Ennen received the Distinguished Service Award, a lifetime award from the International Association of Lighting Management Companies (NALMCO).

NALMCO is made up of nearly 150 member companies representing more than 1,800 individuals involved in lighting management services, including lighting maintenance, retrofitting and manufacturing. Founded in 1953, NALMCO was the first organization in the lighting industry to create nationally recognized professional certifications for lighting management. Ennen is chair of NALMCO's certification committee and spearheaded the development of the new CLCP certification.

This award is received only once in a lifetime and it is not necessarily given every year. It is given to a NALMCO member who has expressed a willingness to give unselfishly their time and energy for their fellow NALMCO members and the betterment of the industry.

The recipient of the 2016 Distinguished Service Award is Erik Ennen, CLMC, CSLC, CLCP, for leading the two- year effort in the development of the industry's first controls certification, the Certified Lighting Controls Professional (CLCP).

"Erik is a strong supporter of NALMCO and is an outstanding example for our membership", says Bill Sgro, CLMC, CSLC, CLCP, 2013 Distinguished Award Recipient.

"He has conducted the CLMC/CSLC content review sessions for the past five years, been instrumental in the re-write of the CALT,CSLT and CLMC certification exams, represented NLAMCO at multiple industry events and has been the driving force behind the new Certified Lighting Controls Professional certification."
