Media: Winona continues energy partnership with Xcel throughout fall (Winona Daily News)

CEE is the Minnesota implementer of Xcel Energy's Partners in Energy, in collaboration with national partners Brendle Group and Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC).

Throughout the fall, Winona and Xcel Energy will be partnering to help save energy costs throughout town. The city expects to come out with its Partners in Energy plan in October or November to bring to the city council for approval. The program is supposed to give communities tools to implement a plan for energy use and supply going forward...

...The city works with an Xcel Energy team planning and implementation to provide guidance, education, and resources for city staff, businesses and residents and try to achieve specific measurable goals by the date they choose, which will be announced in the plan.

Winona got into it in 2016, but Partners in Energy initially launched in 2014 and in Minnesota also includes St. Paul, the Midtown-Lake Street Corridor in Minneapolis, Maplewood, Red Wing, Edina, St. Louis Park, St. Cloud, Faribault and Ramsey County Park and Recreation. During that time, individual households will also have a chance to work with Xcel to save on energy. In September and October, there will be visits to Winona by Xcel’s Home Energy Squad in a collaboration with the city to look at homes in the community...
