CEE new home raters honored for highest gas savings per home

Apr 9, 2019

CEE was among those honored in April with a 2018 Participant Award from CenterPoint Energy. CEE was celebrated as the new home inspection rater with the highest average gas savings per home at 39.2 decatherms.

Among its offerings for new homes, CEE provides certified ratings through the Home Energy Rating System index, the industry standard for Minnesota's homeowners and builders to predict home energy efficiency. Using the HERS index, CEE's team rates the energy efficiency level of new construction homes. HERS is overseen by the national Residential Energy Services Network.

CEE's award was presented at the 2019 High Efficiency New Homes Program kick-off and awards meeting on April 3. With an audience of builders and raters who participate in the High Efficiency New Homes Program, the meeting covered 2018 program highlights, participant awards, and upcoming 2019 points of interest.

The High Efficiency New Homes Program is a joint offering between CenterPoint Energy and Xcel Energy to promote high efficiency home construction that exceeds the Minnesota Residential Energy Code. To deliver improved quality, comfort, and energy savings for a lifetime, each participating home is inspected and tested by a third-party professional trained in advanced building science.
