Mayor of Hopkins Visit

March 1, 2014

The City of Hopkins is now partnering with the Home Energy Squad program by discounting visits to $50 for residents.

In March Energy Technician Dan May and Energy Counselor Kyle Shannon arrived at Mayor Maxwell’s house to help him and his wife Eileen save energy. The crew brought CFL light bulbs, door weather stripping, a water heater blanket, programmable thermostat, high efficiency showerheads, and faucet aerators in case the Maxwell’s home had a need for them. They also conducted a blower door test, insulation inspection and combustion safety test. At the end of the visit the Maxwells received an Energy Fitness Plan. The plan outlined how their home was currently performing and provided suggestions for future energy efficiency projects. The mayor said,

“It’s a program that every homeowner should look into to make the city more energy efficient.”
