CEE staff presenting at ACEEE national energy efficiency conference

You’ve heard it from us before — energy efficiency is important. When we use less energy, power plants need to generate less energy, which in turn reduces greenhouse gas emissions. And better still, using less energy also means saving money. Homes, businesses, governments, and more can all make changes to save on costs and energy.
The City of Minneapolis has been making such changes! The city was recently ranked fourth out of 75 cities in the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy’s (ACEEE’s) City Clean Energy Scorecard, up from 11th in 2017. Minneapolis’s big leap in rank was thanks to two recently adopted policies to address time-of-sale and time-of-rent energy disclosure in existing homes, as well as the City’s Commercial Building Energy Benchmarking and Transparency Ordinance. CEE played a significant role in designing practical approaches for the policies.
Minneapolis will host ACEEE’s 2019 National Conference on Energy Efficiency as a Resource at the Radisson Blu, October 15–17. This will be the organization’s tenth edition of the conference, which “highlights the latest developments in the design and delivery of customer energy efficiency programs, and in the regulatory mechanisms that help make them possible.” This year’s keynote speakers are Patti Poppe, CEO of Consumers Energy, and Amory Lovins, Chief Scientist of Rocky Mountain Institute.
Because CEE has a long-standing relationship with ACEEE and deep local commitment to energy efficiency, we are a gold-level sponsor of the conference. The following CEE staff will be presenting or moderating conference presentations, in alphabetical order by last name:
Chris Duffrin, President
Moderator: Energy Efficiency as a Capacity Resource
