Asset Recovery Corporation
Mr. King was on a mission to improve Asset Recovery Corporation’s processing and warehouse operations in St. Paul’s energy corridor. New lighting was one of the first improvements, because for a company that takes apart and recycles used technology, lighting is extremely important. After contacting a few lighting companies for rebate programs Mr. King settled on Premier Lighting and CEEs One-Stop Efficiency Shop®. With a payback of 14 months the decision to replace the lights was a “no brainer decision.”
The processing and warehouse area was full of different types of 400w metal halides and 8’ T12 fluorescent lights in no real pattern, which resulted in poor lighting in the large warehouse. CEE’s lighting consultant Jaime Fitzke knew that One-Stop Efficiency Shop® would be a great fit for the space. Asset Recovery had the old fixtures removed or retrofitted, replacing with 6 lamp 4’ T8 highbays and 4 lamp 4’ T8 fixtures. This unified the 135,000 sq ft mixed used (office, warehouse, disassembly area) building’s lighting to one type of lamp used throughout.
Not only do the new lights save Asset Recovery Inc. more than $15,000 a year in utility costs, the new lighting has gotten rave reviews and resulted in a much brighter processing and warehouse area. Employees who to take apart small technology parts can clearly see what they are doing, which has provided a productivity increase. As the pictures show quite clearly, the warehouse area has been completely transformed by the new lighting.
Mr. King wants to tell other businesses that a huge benefit with regards to lighting retrofit; is employee’s improved attitude, "being able to walk into a bright and well lit work area is simply awesome."
