Winter winds usher in new staff at CEE
CEE’s staff of more than 160 are hard-working, creative, curious, and passionate about energy. The folks below are some of the most recent additions to our team — helping us continue to promote energy solutions that strengthen the economy while improving the environment.
Hunter Blaeser, Energy Counselor
Before joining CEE, Hunter studied environmental policy and conservation. He has worked in several election cycles and served in several roles to strengthen regional watersheds.
Sam Calahan, Program Analyst
Prior to joining CEE, Sam supported Minneapolis' Promise Zone initiative, where he used data analysis along with market and policy research to improve economic development in north Minneapolis. Before that, he built high-performance passive houses in Park City, Utah.
Matthew Douglas-May, Energy Counselor
Matthew graduated from St. Olaf College with a BA in environmental studies and minors in management and Latin American studies. Matthew also worked as an intern for the Sierra Club of Colorado, the Institute for Local Self-Reliance, and Clean Water Action.
Victor French, Energy Counselor
Before joining CEE, Victor got his BS in geology from the University of Minnesota, Morris. He also spent a few years gaining customer service experience in the retail sector.
Mackenzie Hillson, Energy Counselor
Before CEE, Mackenzie interned at Whitewater State Park, working on park operations and learning how sustainability intertwines with the functions of a state park and the Minnesota DNR. Mackenzie received her BS in environmental studies from St. Cloud State University.
Josie Pivec, Program Assistant
Josie's passion for sustainability sparked during her undergrad at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she studied conservation biology and environmental science. Prior to CEE, she worked for Do It Green! Minnesota and the University of Minnesota’s Forestry Department.
Scott Rockvam, Energy Auditor
Before coming to CEE, Scott worked as an energy consultant conducting efficiency ratings of new construction homes. Scott also does landscape photography and is a member of conservation organizations Backcountry Hunters & Anglers and Protect Our Winters.
Jeremy Taylor, Energy Counselor
Prior to CEE, Jeremy worked in recycling, where he focused on electronic and universal waste recycling for businesses, counties, cities, and schools. Jeremy is currently a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin–Stout where he is pursuing an MS in sustainable management.
Neale Torgrimson, Energy Counselor
Neale has a BA in English language and literature from the University of Minnesota. He previously worked in a hand-blown glass lighting studio and at Seward Community Co-op.
Bailey Veesenmeyer, Scheduling Assistant
Before coming to CEE, Bailey worked for The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library, where she coordinated arts and humanities programming in libraries throughout St. Paul. Bailey holds a BA in Spanish language & literature from the University of Minnesota.
