“One Stop” for LED Rebates and More
[ This post originally appeared in the Minnesota Electrical Association’s March 2016 newsletter. ]
As administrators of the One-Stop Efficiency Shop®, we continue to witness the rapid advancement of LED technology. The LED market is growing quickly and more manufacturers than ever before are competing for a share of it. In 2015, retrofits using LED technology accounted for 86% of the savings generated by the One-Stop Efficiency Shop, doubling their contribution from only two years ago.
LED products, although dropping in price, are still relatively expensive. Product choices can also be overwhelming. If you are working with a small or medium-sized business that qualifies for the One-Stop Efficiency Shop, program staff can help you make sure your customer gets the most suitable, efficient lighting system for their space, as well as significant rebates up to 60% of the project cost. One-Stop also offers below market-rate financing, including a 0% loan for qualified nonprofits, as well as completion and submittal of all program paperwork.
A few program benefits you may not be aware of:
We rebate all types of LEDs – interior and exterior – including screw-ins, linear replacement lamps, retrofit kits, and new fixtures.
The One-Stop Efficiency Shop does not require a one-for-one replacement — if you install fewer fixtures than you remove, your customer will receive rebates for the additional energy savings.
There are rebates for lighting controls available.
We still rebate existing T12s, as long as the replacement system saves more energy than the applicable T8 EISA baseline.
There are more options for LEDs than ever before. The Design Lights Consortium Qualified Products List (DLC QPL) currently contains a staggering 160,000 qualified products. Our staff is here to help you wade through the choices and put together a proposal that is efficient and make sense for your customer. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions or need guidance.
In 2016, the One-Stop Efficiency Shop will facilitate $5 million in rebates to participating businesses. If you would like more information about the program or to find out if your customers are eligible, please contact Cindy Kelly at 612-244-2427 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
