Staff Spotlight: John Kroll
John Kroll, Energy Technician
Time at CEE: 1 year
Hometown: Necedah, WI
Favorite school subject: Psychology
Why CEE?: I joined CEE to help homeowners cut energy waste which, in turn, lowers their utility bills, makes their home more comfortable, and reduces their carbon footprint.
In John's words:
CEE's past work in the Minneapolis Airport Commission's noise mitigation program set the bar for our current approach to home energy efficiency upgrades. The work we did to reduce noise from the growing international airport
also reduced homeowners' energy costs and made their homes more comfortable.
Now CEE is poised to learn from our new president, Chris Duffrin, while keeping the wheels rolling along on a powerful clean energy movement CEE has contributed to for decades. I love seeing our policy work to promote renewable energy in Minnesota instead of a continued emphasis on fossil fuels. I see CEE leading the charge to our state's clean energy future.
As an energy technician, I have the privilege of meeting with local homeowners to install energy-saving products and discuss how they can cut their utility costs through air sealing or insulation work. My work helps these homeowners become more energy efficient and lower their fossil fuel use, which ties directly into CEE's nonprofit mission to promote energy efficiency and improve the environment.
I'm a relatively new resident of Minnesota, and also relatively new to CEE's Home Energy Squad. I particularly love CEE's booths at local farmers' markets, getting the word out about our programs and services. It feels great to be part of something special, part of a team of local leaders working to promote energy upgrade opportunities while protecting our region's beautiful environment.
