Why CEE?: Because I have the freedom to think outside the box and then act on new business opportunities.
In Rich's words:
CEE is becoming increasingly well known for our technical research into new and better energy efficiency technologies and practices. Nearly invisible to the public so far, however, is our capacity to develop and promote public policies that help enable and strengthen Minnesota's energy efficiency programs.
Energy efficiency is a rapidly growing field. In the future, I foresee more competition within Minnesota's energy efficiency space as well as more business opportunities through local and regional partnerships. Fortunately, building on emerging opportunities is central to our approach.
I manage CEE's One-Stop Efficiency Shop lighting program, a full-service lighting rebate program available to small businesses in Xcel Energy's Minnesota service territory. One of the biggest and most productive programs of it's kind in the U.S., our One-Stop program has provided revenues since 2000 that directly support and enhance CEE's mission.
My ongoing business development activities also help create new revenue sources while building capabilities for CEE's next opportunity, wherever we find it — something I look forward to digging into even more in 2016.
