Tim Ellingson, P.E.

Mechanical Engineer

Tim is a member of CEE’s Engineering Services department and has been with CEE since 2011. Tim is responsible for delivering pragmatic energy efficiency and operations focused solutions to commercial building clients within private, institutional, state government, and local government sectors. He is tasked with identifying, evaluating, calculating, and verifying energy efficiency opportunities in commercial-scale facilities through service offerings including recommissioning, targeted research, efficient operations training, and various certification/benchmarking/disclosure compliance efforts. Tim previously served as a project engineer for the Public Buildings Enhanced Energy Efficiency Program (PBEEEP), a state-run recommissioning program administered by CEE.

Tim brings a strong knowledge of actual building operation as compared to design intent. His projects have included extensive use of temporary and permanent datalogging systems as well as building automation data to document system performance

Prior to joining CEE Tim spent four and a half years with The Weidt Group working on measurement and verification, energy efficiency, and sustainability in commercial buildings. During his time at The Weidt Group, he assisted design teams via construction document review and on-site verification of architectural, electrical, and mechanical energy conservation measures.

Tim has also worked on open-market and utility-based projects involving K-12 schools, office buildings, university campuses, correctional facilities, hospitals, clinics, and entertainment facilities within Minnesota, Colorado, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Nevada.
