Mark Hancock, P.E.
Director of Engineering
Mark has been with CEE since 1987 and is currently the director of engineering. The engineering group at CEE focuses on existing building commissioning which improves energy efficiency in commercial and institutional buildings. The engineering team achieves results where others have failed by examining the building as a complete system and finding the root cause of the energy waste. Mark has extensive experience in building system operation, optimization, and diagnosis. He has performed multiple existing building commissioning studies that have resulted in reduced energy costs, greater occupant comfort, and improved ventilation for the building owners. He has performed extensive hands-on measurements of HVAC systems and verification of accuracy of building automation points and sub-metering of individual systems.
In addition to his role as engineering lead, Mark has been involved in a broad range of field research for gas and electric end uses. This research spans from gas and electric cooling, commercial and residential gas space heating and water heating, commercial cooking, industrial process consumption, and recently the optimization of existing roof top air handlers. His projects have involved the use of data logging systems and/or building automation systems to collect and document the performance of energy consuming equipment. He has experience with optimization of control systems for building systems and implementation of improved controls for upgrades of building ventilation systems per ASHRAE standards.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.
