Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency has the biggest immediate impact on overall energy consumption and does so at the lowest cost possible. Unfortunately energy efficiency, as a policy option, lacks the visibility and concentrated political constituency prevalent among the energy supply industries. CEE overcomes this bias by engaging local elected officials, regulatory personnel, utilities, residents, and businesses to promote energy efficiency and demonstrate its benefits and reduce energy consumption in the state.

Conservation Improvement Program

CIP is a reference to the statutory requirements for Minnesota utilities to invest in demand-side management (DSM). Codified in Minnesota Statutes 216B.241, it establishes a minimal level of DSM investment and includes policy goals and general administrative guidelines.

Municipals

CEE has been significantly involved in working the Minnesota’s municipal utilities to assist them in meeting their statutory requirements and capturing benefits for their ratepayers.
