CEE in the Star Tribune

A recent article in the Star Tribune by reporter Bill McAuliffe on reduced greenhouse gas emissions in Minneapolis mentions CEE's residential energy efficiency program currently offered in the city, Community Energy Services. In his interview, Program Manager Carl Nelson explained that while reduced carbon dioxide emissions are a positive result of reducing energy waste, it's not the only motivation that brought more than 4,000 Minneapolis homeowners to the program so far:
"Nelson said climate change is not necessarily what prompts homeowners to participate.
"I talk to hundreds of Minneapolis residents every month," he said. "We don't focus on climate change. We focus on saving energy, saving money and making their homes more energy efficient. And avoiding ice dams!
"I think there are a lot of reasons why people do things that result in cutting carbon [dioxide]," he added. "Concern about climate change is just one of them.""
