The Innovation Exchange is CEE's hub for researching, synthesizing, and pioneering energy efficiency solutions. Our activities are grounded in the living lab of CEE programs, and emphasize practical approaches that harness direct insight from field experience.
Through collaboration and communication with partners, we build on CEE’s 30 years of experience to advance the market and technology opportunities for energy efficiency. The Innovation Exchange is a resource for practitioners and experts to share best practices, evaluate novel ideas, and discover the next generation of energy solutions.

We engage experts and practitioners to identify gaps in knowledge and generate new ideas - and to ensure our questions are as thoughtful, timely, and relevant as they are pragmatic.

We are passionate about identifying new communication technologies to share knowledge and information with energy experts, from program managers to building operators. By focusing on data-driven tools, we encourage practitioners to explore lessons learned from CEE’s programs.
Focus Areas
A core component of CEE’s non-profit mission is to advance the field of cost-effective energy efficiency in the public interest. At the Innovation Exchange, we see many exciting possibilities for the future of energy efficiency. Some of our focus areas include the energy savings potential of whole and integrated systems, new opportunities for smaller businesses and cities, and the potential of data transparency, especially to influence behavior change. We provide relevant data, expert opinions, networking opportunities, and technical tools, and we use our vantage to revisit relevant lessons of the last decades as well as focusing on future opportunities.
